AI-GEN
AI-Gen is born from the observation that microfluidics systems, although technically very advanced, are not very user-friendly and could be simpler to operate. It aims at bringing the droplet technology to new users with no engineering/technical background by:
• Automate the system with AI
• Provide a one-click control for the system
• Focus on what is important for the user (droplet size) and not the technical aspects (pressure, flow rate)
AI-Gen operation has two phases:
- Training phase
- Operation phase
During the training phase, AI-Gen scans the whole operating pressure range and, using a camera, captures pictures of the generated droplets. It uses AI technology to analyse the data and generate a model (“droplet size diagram”) for that given microfluidic setup.
During the operation phase, the user inputs the desired droplet size and the software uses the model to set the right pressure values. It will constantly monitor the quality of the droplet using the camera and adjust the pressure accordingly if it detects variances in size.
The AI-Gen setup requires:
- A pressure controller and reservoirs
- A droplet chip
- A camera
- A computer with the AI-Gen software
